Magazine After Final Editing

I have been through the editing process of these three pages again and again and again and now I finally made it the best it could be with the resources I had (I know I have said that a couple of times already, but this time I know it's true). Here is the front cover:

Double Page Spread

This is my completed double page spread. I tried out using more than one image but I couldn't find a way to make it look right. As for the text I'm not too disappointed, I've seen plenty of interviews written in this format, the only problem is that I would have liked to add some more questions, but this is the exact volume of text that I wanted.

Analysis of a magazine contents page

This is my analysis of a metal magazine contents page, I liked how it was so clear and still looked well designed and visually pleasing.

I really liked that it had two columns, one for the features and one for the regular pieces, that's something I think I would like to put into my contents page. Something I wasn't too keen on was the amount of photos in it though, I liked that it was visual but the contents page isn't an area where people want to look at photos, it's more of a reference page.

This is my contents page. I didn't like the look of having too many photos but I made it slightly more visual by adding the design in the background and one photo. I found it difficult to think up all the articles but the professional contents page I looked at was helpful, so I used the same kind of format.

My Magazine Front Cover

Here is the cover for my music magazine:

I decided to go with a black and white theme, but with some guidence to make my masthead stand out more I changed it to red. I kept the original style though, because I think it looks like what it is. I did go back on two things from my initial ideas though: the mid shot and the white background. I was worried because I liked this photo a lot, but I'm happy with it despite the busy-ish background. I think it works with the theme.
